How Do Some People Keep Getting Paid?

When my brother was a teenager, he owned a few gumball machines.

He placed them in laundromats around town.

Every few weeks, he would stop by.

Collect the quarters.

Refill the machines.

Leave.

The machines kept working.

Even when he wasn't there.

Why did the machines keep making money after he went home?

The same thing shows up in other places too.

A landlord collects rent.

An author earns royalties from a book.

A songwriter gets paid when a song is played.

A business owner earns money while employees are working.

Different people.

Different businesses.

Same idea.

Money keeps coming in after the original work is done.

How is that possible?

They own something.

A house.

A song.

A book.

A business.

An asset is something that produces value.

Sometimes it produces income.

Sometimes it saves time.

Sometimes it does both.

Rental houses.

Vending machines.

Car washes.

Books.

Software.

Businesses.

Some assets take a lot of money to build.

Some take years of knowledge.

Some require special talent.

Most people never write a hit song.

Most people never buy an apartment complex.

Most people never build a large company.

So what options are left for the average person?

What about network marketing?

Some people love it.

Some people hate it.

Most people have an opinion.

Few can explain how it works.

Network marketing is a business model.

A company creates products.

Customers buy them.

It grows through word of mouth.

People tell others about the products they use.

Some customers remain customers.

Others decide they would like to build a business.

The company creates the products.

The company ships the products.

The company takes care of the day-to-day details.

You're not starting from scratch.

One person working alone can only do so much.

A group of people can accomplish more.

We see it everywhere.

Schools.

Churches.

Sports teams.

Families.

Businesses.

Network marketing works the same way.

Does that mean everyone should do it?

No.

Some people prefer real estate.

Some prefer investing.

Some prefer traditional businesses.

Some would rather have a career.

Those are all valid choices.

Network marketing is not for everyone.

It's not easy money.

It's not a shortcut.

Like any business, you have to learn new skills and ways of thinking.
